Label TextWhistler's landscape prints from 1859 show a good deal of the influence of Corot. There is a freedom in the "summary and broad manner" of Corot that appealed to Whistler's experimental nature. However, Whistler soon abandoned landscapes altogether in favor of cityscapes.Exhibition HistoryToledo Museum of Art, Barbizon School Masters and Prints by TMA The Painter Was a Printmaker: June 23 - Sept. 9, 1984 Jules Jacquemart, December 1964 through June 1965.
