Label TextThese illustrations, characterized by the somewhat bawdy imagery of Picasso's later years and the inventive use of intaglio techniques, are typical works from the fertile imagination of the octogenarian artist. (Picasso continued to illustrate books until 1972.) The text, a play first presented in 1920, tells of an excessively jealous man who loses his wife.
