Label TextLorna Simpson often incorporates everyday objects into her work in symbolic ways. The breastbone or ‘wishbone’ is an object of hope and desire. These three unbroken bones are carefully stored and still hold the potential for wishes fulfilled. However, the wishes are also presented in various states of permanence and value, through the mediums of ceramic, bronze, and rubber.Published ReferencesTMA New Acquisitions in Graphic Arts, Dec. 21, 2001-March 30, 2002
