Label Text:Initially inspired by Roman mosaic bowls made from fused glass sections of glass canes, German-born artist Klaus Moje is known for his fused glass creations. By 1982 Moje moved to Australia to establish a glass program at the Canberra School of Art. He developed a brilliant color palette over time, but his expressively colored work remains as diverse as the source of his inspiration: the bright Australian light and the aesthetic of Australian Aboriginal art, particularly its translation of color and patterning from nature into art.
