Label Text:Level's text is one of the first monographs on Picasso. It gives an artistic evaluation of Picasso's oeuvre, in addition to biographical details about the artist's friendships, travels, exhibitions, and circumstances prompting the works he created. The beautiful lithograph VISAGE captures the classic profile of Marie-Therese Walter, whom Picasso had met in 1927. This is one of the first of many portraits he did of her.
