DescriptionManuscript section containing seven folios of continuous text written in Arabic on pink paper. The Qur’anic text, comprised of Surah al-Baqarah (II), part of verse 206 to part of verse 217, is written in brown Maghribi script, a single column of 5 lines. Diacritical, vocalization, and pointing marks appear in outlined gold, silver, blue, yellow, and green. Gold roundels containing ‘abjad letters in white and red mark the divisions of each Qur’anic verse, but are misnumbered. A teardrop-shaped medallion marks the end of verse 207. Housed in modern leather binding blind-stamped with motifs of Mamluk influence.
