Label Text:Richard Marquis is a prolific glass artist working in the Seattle area, who has been challenging what glass can express since the start of the Studio Glass movement. His series Land Speed Assault Vehicles is inspired by 1930s race cars used at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. The shiny mirrored surfaces along with the aerodynamic forms give the stationary glass cars a sense of racing motion.
