Label Text:Alfredo Jaar has a desire to change the world; he also accepts how naïve that goal is. He believes his art can effect change, informing and engaging his audience and illuminating his message—figuratively and literally.

Although Jaar is best known for his installation work, recently he has also begun to explore neon as a medium to provoke deep connection and philosophical discourse. The phrase ‘Be Afraid of the Enormity of the Possible’ is derived from the writings of Romanian philosopher Emil Cioran (1911–1995).
