DescriptionMold-blown colorless glass using a cire perdue (lost wax) mold, etched, polished base, light brown patina. The tall, cast glass vase consists of a body of inverted baluster shape that tapers from the shoulders toward the base, the short, slightly inverted rim with a straight edge. Its surface is modeled with four vertical, upside-down fern leaves, their ribs creating four protrusions at the vessel shoulder. The body’s surface is acid-etched and the leaves are emphasized with an applied brown patina. The pontil mark beneath the slightly flared base is ground out to a shallow, concave circle.
