The Dead was designed, published and printed by Stoney Road Press in collaboration with the James Joyce Centre in 2014, to mark the centenary of the publication of Dubliners. It is limited to 150 copies with a further 25 numbered in Roman numerals for private distribution. The text is set in Dolly Roman. The paper is Arches Blanc 250gsm, the endpapers are Zerkall Butten 120gsm. It was printed letterpress by hand on a Swiss proofing press on loan from the National Print Museum, Dublin. Book written by James Joyce, with an introduction by (Irish Independent) Senator David Norris. The book contains 13 illustrations by Berry. The illustrations were hand drawn by the artist and transferred (photographic reproduction?) to letterpress plates and each one is then hand printed with the text.
