DescriptionThe cylindrical vessel, flaring towards the rim, is constructed of brick-like colorless cane sections with thin edges in primary colors that are loosely fused together. In a random pattern, some of the “bricks” are engraved and enameled with black insects, such as centipedes, ants, beetles, and flies. The tower is fused to a lenticular hollow blown base with a satin-etched surface to which a few “bricks” are randomly fused. An engraved glass frog, a model commercially produced by the Waterford® Crystal factory, has been applied to the interior base of the cylinder.
