Label Text:Beginning in the late 1960s, studio glass pioneer Harvey Littleton’s sculptural works evolved from blown vessels to solid forms that allowed gravity to impart shape to the molten, viscous material of glass. These forms were first stretched into tall, attenuated columns affixed to aluminum bases, as in this example. Later, he shaped them into truncated loops or graceful curves.
