Label Text:Tosa Mitsusada came from the Tosa family of artists who, along with their followers, were painters to the Japanese Imperial court from the 15th to the late 19th century. The delicate, decorative style of painting that characterized the Tosa school was well suited to gentle scenes of court life and leisure, as in this charming depiction of a winter’s day.
