Label Text:The Wiener Werkstätte (Vienna Workshops) evolved out of the Vienna Secession, an alliance of progressive artists and designers in 1903. Their aim was to bring good design and art suitable for the modern world into every aspect of people’s lives. Max Snischek designed primarily for the fashion division of the Workshops after World War I (1914–1918).
DescriptionRope necklace composed of multi-colored opaque and translucent glass seed beads forming a weft, arranged in blocks of horizontal stripes, and a section consisting of seven globular seed bead-covered spheres with a wood and paper-mâché core, separated by thin strands of seed beads.
