Label Text:After World War I, a new generation of women artists began to take center stage in the British design world, revitalizing traditional crafts in a new social and economic climate. Dorrie Nossiter and her friends Sybil Dunlop and George Hunt, whose brooches are also included in this display, used luscious semi-precious stones in their designs to great effect. These were sold in London shops offering fashion jewelry, accessories, objets d’arts, and some furnishings.
