Label TextExcavated in 1922 at Akhetaten (modern Amarna) by the Egypt Exploration Society, this clay mold was used to produce lotus flower-shaped beads. Lotus imagery was common in Amarna-period decoration. The mold was assigned to the Toledo Museum of Art through the EES’s formal division of finds from that excavation season.
