DescriptionPressed upside down in a plain one-piece female mold by a male plunger bearing the pattern, using Jarves's 1828 patent method (see 1966.84). Shoulder curves inward directly to the flat bottom of the plate. Upper surface entirely plain. No cavetto. No foot ring. Chill mark on upper surface, but no definite evidence of a shear mark. Small remains of fins on underside of rim, and some evidence of some removal of fins by a stone wheel.
