DescriptionDish: pressed upright in a female mold of three vertical sections bearing Challinor's 313 Opal pattern (a tree-of-life pattern on two sections and a pattern of daisies on the third), with a base plate that formed the lower edge and underside of the base, with a cap ring that formed the upper edge of the rim and flower-patterned shoulder, by a male plunger bearing a chrysanthemum-like flower pattern for the bottom interior of the bowl. No fire-polishing. No pontil mark. Cover: pressed upside down in a female mold of three vertical sections bearing the same pattern as the bowl, in conjunction with a one-piece female mold that formed the top of the finial, with a cap ring that formed the lower edge and underside of the rim, by a plain male plunger. No fire-polishing. No pontil mark.
