DescriptionEntire piece pressed upright in a female mold of three vertical sections bearing the Excelsior pattern, with a base plate with a large flattened boss that formed the underside of the foot, probably with a cap ring that formed the rim, by a plain male plunger. The moldmarks extend from the bottom edge of the foot to the rim, rising vertically to the lower point of the diamond, then following its edge to its top, then continuing to the rim. Rim heavily fire-polished. Rough pontil mark.
