Label Text:The border on this plaque is cut in the Sultana pattern, which was patented by the Libbey Glass Company in 1901. The Libbey trademark, engraved in the center, was the same mark etched on Libbey glassware and used in company advertisements. Prominent display of the company trademark in their St. Louis World’s Fair exhibit reminded fair goers of the Libbey name, encouraging future purchases of Libbey glassware for gifts and home use.
