Label Text:A Broadside in the early days was the term applied to a piece of printing on one side of a single sheet, generally of a public notice, advertisement, a harrowing poem or the like. The most notable broadside advertises the wares of Benedict Arnold, the Traitor, when as a young man of 21 was a dealer in drugs, books and sundries at New Haven, Connecticut. It is the only one known to exist and as an early American bookseller's list it has great bibliographical importance.
