Label Text:Engraved by Van Leyden at the age of 16, we see in this youthful work the detail of his early method of modeling, for which he soon substituted a somewhat bolder system in which cross hatching plays a secondary part to the use of parallel lines. Also notice the study of humanity in varying moods. The fineness of this print shows why these were highly sought after by collectors of the period.
