Label Text:Whistler's landscape prints from 1859 show a good deal of the influence of Corot. There is a freedom in the "summary and broad manner" of Corot that appealed to Whistler's experimental nature. However, Whistler soon abandoned landscapes altogether in favor of cityscapes.
