Label Text:In classical mythology, Lycaon was the king of Arcadia (in ancient times, the central highlands of the Peloponnese) and the father of Callisto (a nymph devoted to the cult of Artemis). Lycaon was reputed to have tested the divinity of Zeus by trying to induce the Olympian to consume human flesh. His deceit was discovered and as punishment he was turned into a wolf.
