Label Text:Trained as a goldsmith, like many early printmakers, Urs Graf was also a draftsman, woodcut designer, and an occasional soldier. He was also noted for being one of the first, besides Dürer, to use etching. This image is from a set of white line woodcuts from 1521 entitled Standard Bearers of the Swiss Confederacy.
