Label Text:The colophon states that Tzara wrote this poem in 1945 when he was in the psychiatric hospital at Saint-Alban. This is an outstanding example of a successful collaboration between colorful images and random verse. The 72 lithograph illustrations by Miro were printed over a two year period, from 1948 to 1950. The artist also designed the collage and case enclosing the book.
