Label Text:"Days of Glory" includes personal accounts of the liberation of Paris after the Second World War. The text is by a variety of authors, including most notably Valéry and Colette, all following a preface by General Koenig. Eluard's poem "Dans un miroir noir" is accompanied by an engraving of a woman's face and reproductions of two drawings in blue ink by Picasso. The proceed of the sale were given to the French Red Cross for the benefit of prisoners of war.
